Hey Ally,

You know I’ve been cooking up something big! But before I get into it, how was your week? How are you doing?

Today’s email is special—that’s why it’s coming to you on a Saturday!

After weeks of building in public, testing ideas, and pushing boundaries, I’m beyond excited to announce that Arctive Citizens is officially live! 🎉 We’re now active on Instagram, TikTok, and X, and our MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is ready for you to explore!

💥 Yes, you heard that right—we’re LIVE! 💥

We’ve poured our hearts into creating a platform that empowers citizens to engage with social issues, governance, and decision-making through creative media and cutting-edge technologies. At Arctive Citizens, we believe that being an active citizen goes beyond voting—it’s about making your voice heard every day and influencing real change.

We’re here to democratize public participation and community engagement by providing innovative, user-friendly tools that help people connect, collaborate, and take action. Whether you’re advocating for climate justice, human rights, or good governance, this platform is designed to amplify your voice.

And today, we’re inviting YOU to be part of this community. 🌍✨

Our First Drop: The Arctive Citizens Playlist

As we continue working on the platform (yes, it’s still a work in progress!), we wanted to share our first exciting feature—a playlist that captures the heart and soul of Arctive Citizens. We teamed up with Aisha Esha, a young talented woman from Nairobi, Kenya to curate a playlist that embodies our core values of social justice, active citizenship and the power of community. This playlist is a soundtrack for citizens like you, meant to inspire as we work together towards a more just and peaceful world.

Why Music, and Why Now?

At Arctive Citizens, we believe that citizen engagement goes beyond policies and platforms—it’s also about the energy and emotions that drive change. Music has always been a powerful force in revolutions and community movements, and we wanted our first public offering to embody that spirit. The playlist is our way of saying,

‘We’re here. We’re loud. And we’re ready for change.’

Going public today and launching this playlist around the International Day of Peace feels especially fitting, especially as my work has always been tied to peacebuilding. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the UN General Assembly’s Declaration and Programme of Action on a Culture of Peace. At Arctive Citizens, we aim to reflect that same theme by creating a space where individuals from all walks of life can come together, share ideas, and take action to build more peaceful, inclusive societies. The playlist is just the first step toward building this Culture of Peace—a celebration of what’s possible when we unite for change.

Whether you’re working on your next advocacy project, planning a community event, or just winding down, let this playlist set the tone for active citizenship

Help Us Build Our Platform

Now, about the platform: we’re still hard at work building it, and while it’s not fully complete yet, I’ve loved the process of building in public with all your input guiding the design and execution. The platform will be a space where you can stay informed on social issues, learn how to take action, and connect with fellow citizens to collaborate and create real impact. It’s all about making activism accessible, effective, and community-driven.

We’d love for you to check out what we’ve started so far! Visit the platform - Arctive Citizens Platform (Beta). It’s still a work in progress, and we’d appreciate your feedback—what you like, what could be improved, and how we can make this community more valuable to you. Your insights will help us shape the platform.

What’s Next?

As we continue rolling out our citizen engagement initiatives, both online and offline, you can expect more updates, sneak peeks, and behind-the-scenes stories about how we’re building this platform—and how you can collaborate with us.

For now, enjoy our playlist, explore our MVP, share it with your friends, and don’t forget to send us your feedback! We’re all about making this space a true reflection of our community—and your voice matters.

Curious about the meaning behind Arctive Citizens? Stay tuned for our next building-in-public update, where we’ll share the story behind the name!

Thank you for being part of this journey! Your support and ideas fuel everything we’re doing at Arctive Citizens, and we’re so excited to keep building this community with you.

With excitement and hope,
